Robdar, the lyrics you posted of 'Walk the Line' are really a beautiful reflection to read in light of him losing his eife so recently.
And xjw-b12, I love 'Boy named Sue'!
During one meeting we had an older brother incorporate two lines of lyrics from this song in his comments. I can't remeber what they were, but i remember thinking, "Man, I don't think many here get the reference. That's one hell of a song!"
"Folsom Prison" is another great song!

It's sad, but like others have said, expected, that Cash would pass on soon after his wife died.
He was one of the great song writers of the story telling genre for our time.
And he was a recognized talent by even those outside of the 'country-western' style appreciated.
Myself and a few of my friends who all typically do not listen to 'c-w', loved Cash.
Ritter's passing was a shock. I never saw his new sitcom, but I was glad to see that his career was on the upswing. I feel bad for thinking this way, but now I feel like I should watch a couple episodes of his new sitcom just to see what I was missing.

one of the cornerstones of jw's is counsel.
they just love to give counsel and many times they will literally make things up just for the sake of counsel.
i was once counselled for joking around too much.

I can't really say now since i'm undercover and the one really good thing that I did I just can't disclose. Looking back I can't believe that I thought that I wouldn't get in trouble from the elders on it. If anyone ever read it from the tri-state area, my guess is that they'd pin me as Winston Smith.
And a couple of things that are so ridiculous that I couldn't believe that I was even being asked about it. All I could think of when I was getting the counsel in the backroom was, "Are you really serious? Someone actually complained about this?"
But that one is really unique too. I can guarantee no one here has ever been counseled on it. I still laugh about it everytime I think about it.
Remind me to tell you when I'm out, Ok gang?
Keep 'em coming.

After reading some of the posts, I recalled how horrifying that day was.
I recall how I found about it and then turning on the TV to see live the 2nd plane hit.
The original amount of anticipated deaths, the false reports of bombs being set off, the cheering Palestinian adults and even children!
When WTC 1 & 2 finally fell, I forgot just how stunned I was. I think this picture brought back some of those feelings for me:
The SHOCK in peoples faces, of NYC citizens who were complete strangers from so many different ethnic groups, financial status, or religous beliefs at one moment all seemed like one betrayed family that pulled together to help each other out in that dire time of need.
On a smaller scale, a simlar feeling of family was recalled to me when the blackouts occured in NYC. I think that if 9-11 never happened, the blackouts may have gave rise to a different reaction in some NY'ers. Not that 9-11 was good in any sense, but it was promising to see that a city with such a diverse and monstrous population could better themselves and 'grow' as a family from such a tragic event.
It's natural and healthy that as we got back on with our lives that this feling of horror subsided. But it is good to recall the lessons that were learned from that trajic event.
It still amazes me reviewing what happened.
What men can rationalize in the name of religion...

i always thought the society frowned upon the use of pinatas, if not discouraging the use of them all together.
apparently the wts has decided to avoid insulting the brothers in mexico.
